Backed by Rakuna’s leading OCR technology, Snapshot Resume has always been the most popular feature of the Rakuna Mobile app. By taking resume snapshots, recruiters can quickly capture and digitize candidates’ resumes when maintaining engaging moments with them at offline recruiting events.
This feature allows recruiters to take up to four pages of candidates’ resumes, followed by an Evaluation Form with a pre-created customizable set of questions. This way, users can capture candidate information with a tap of a button. Along with the candidate’s resume, you can attach an evaluation form for the recruiters to fill out.
Note: a resume must at least contain the full name and an email address for the information to be processed on our back-end.
How to use Snapshot Mode with Smart Capture feature
Open the event in the Rakuna Recruit app and select Snapshot Mode. Use the Smart Capture feature to align and automatically scan a candidate's resume.
When the resume is properly aligned, the app automatically captures the photo. In most cases, you do not need to tap the shutter button. If auto-capture does not start, you can tap the shutter manually.
Using Auto-Crop
After you capture the resume, Rakuna Recruit automatically crops the image to the detected edges of the document. This removes background items, such as a desk, hands, or other papers, before the image is processed.
If the automatic crop does not align correctly with the page, manually adjust the crop corners as belows.
What happens after you capture a resume
The app uses optical character recognition (OCR) to automatically extract the candidate’s name, email address, phone number, education, and other resume details.
Always review the extracted fields before saving. OCR accuracy may vary depending on the resume format, handwriting, or image quality.
Tips for better results
Place the resume on a flat, well-lit surface whenever possible.
Avoid casting shadows across the document.
If OCR repeatedly misreads a resume, such as one with an unusual template, use Manual Mode for that candidate instead.
