When submitting your e-resume, you may receive a message saying that the file is invalid. Please note that when uploading, the file must be in PDF format and under 1MB only.

A file with the .pdf file extension is a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. PDFs are typically used to distribute read-only documents that preserve the layout of a page (which is why this format is always preferred by employers over Word documents as Word does not preserve the document's layout). They are commonly used for documents like user manuals, eBooks, application forms, and scanned documents, to name just a few.

If you upload a file that is not a PDF (doesn't have the extension .pdf), you'll see the message:
​Invalid file
​You cannot upload files of this type, only pdf.

If you upload a file that is a PDF but is larger than 1MB, you'll see the message:
​Invalid file
File is too large. Max file size: 1MB.

If you don't have a PDF file ready for upload yet, try our recommended online PDF file converters: smallpdf or topdf. Simply upload the file, or drag-and-drop from your desktop into the uploading section, and follow the next instruction on the website to convert. Make sure to choose the option of converting into a PDF file.

Make sure the file is less than 1 megabyte (MB) in size. To check the size of the file on Window, right-click on the file and select Properties to see the size. To check the size of the file on Mac, right-click on the file and select Get Info and see size. 

To compress the file, try our recommended only PDF file compressor: smallpdf or ilovepdf.
